Shakabuku was commissoned to produce 12 short films for the UK film Council and NFM, working with some of the best up and coming talent from the North East of England.

LOLLIPOP
A short sad tale seen through the eyes of an extraordinary young boy, who witnesses his brothers sudden death, yet manages to help his father overcome the grief.

CHAINGANGS
A sceptical businessman dismisses a strange chain email as mumbo jumbo. But when it's bizarre prophecies start coming true, he finds himself in a race against time to forward it on...
Winner - Best Short film 2004 at the London Sci Fi FF, Broadcast Award Nominee- Best Director 2004, Shortlisted BBC Talent New Filmmakers Award at Brief Encounters Film Festival. Regional winner - National 48hour Film Challenge (UK Film Council/Film Four).

 

 

TUG OF WAR
Short comedy drama follows a test of abstinence between four friends after one of the group is caught ‘in the act’ of sexual self-gratification by the college matron. Starring Julie Goodyear, Martin Hancock, Marsha Thomason, Jo Guest and Scott Neal. Currently being digitally remastered for DVD release later this year. Playing at Cannes 2005 in May.

CIRCLES
Oxfam backed 20-minute drama about homelessness in Teesside, distributed through schools and sixth form.
